Alan Ball is an American screenwriter, director, and producer best known for writing the Academy Award-winning screenplay for American Beauty (1999). Ball began his career in television before achieving critical acclaim with American Beauty, the film earned him the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. He later created the acclaimed TV series Six Feet Under and True Blood, further cementing his reputation for bold storytelling and complex character work. We are honored that a creator of his caliber has joined our family of Angel Award recipients.
